SCREEN ON THE GREEN - RECAP

I know I might be a little LATE.....but.....WHATEVER!!!! I didn't get a chance to blog about how SCREEN ON THE GREEN was on last Thursday but it was such an eventful evening that I HAD to write about it.

I arrived at around 8:20 and got a half-way decent seat but Piedmont Park was CROWDED! People were EVERYWHERE!  Music was playing and people were dancing and ENJOYING themselves. I was excited!  After all, I was ditiching Kobe and The Lakers (GO LAKERS) to enjoy this event. The movie that was playing was "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen." I had never seen it, but I heard that it was a GREAT movie so I was ready to enjoy it. My friend and I got a good spot and settled into our seats and opened up our bag of chips and started munching on them when I suddenly noticed that there were teenagers EVERYWHERE! I felt like I was at a high school football game! WHERE were the cheerleaders? LOL! It was actually quite amusing for awhile.  The young teenage boys were there to get phone numbers from the young girls and for the first hour that I was there the SAME teenagers were prancing UP and DOWN the sidewalk that was near where I was sitting. My friend and I were sitting there laughing for awhile and wondering if we looked that CRAZY when we were in high school....I DON'T think so!!!! White Plains High School (shout out to White Plains, NY) girls had MORE respect for ourselves...so we thought! LOL!

Anyways...the movie didn't start until it was COMPLETELY dark....so that was around 9:25.  Now, most of US Grownups came with chairs and blankets and coolers and all; whereas, most of these teenagers just came to stand around and be noticed.  It was o.k. for them to be a little rowdy before the movie started but now that the movie had started it was time for them to SHUT UP!!!! LOL!  The first 5-10 minutes of the movie was o.k. and then next thing you know....the teenagers started to run in PACKS! I'm guessing that there were some fights going on because it happened about 3 times in the FIRST hour of the movie! I was sitting there like OMG where are the PARENTS at? They sent their WILD children out to ruin MY MOVIE? LOL! Anyways, I decided to leave after about 90 minutes of the film because it was getting TOO crazy out there and those teenagers were TOO wild! It was still a FUN evening and DEFINITELY an event that I would recommend to all of my ATL family to check out!

SCREEN ON THE GREEN is tonight and they will be playing "Dreamgirls." I LOVE that movie so I'm going to get to Piedmont Park SUPER early so that I won't have to deal with the WILD TEENAGERS OF ATL!
